Bride flip flops

was at a bridal shower on the weekend and I really wanted to make my gift cheesey so I went to bed bath and beyond and found a cute hand towel that had a little bride and groom embroidered on it. But that really wasn't enough to be the whole gift so I went to my craft store and found a cute tank top and flip flops that said Bride on them. But both were too big and had been taken out of their package and just not really what I wanted to give to someone as a gift so I decided to make something =)
Soo I purchased a pair of plain flip flops, some sparkly pink iron on letters, some pink rhinestones.
And volia who's is what I was able to come up with.

What do you guys think? I used a hair dryer and a bit of super glue to stick the letters down and the rhinestones had a sticky backing on them.

The Groomsman

When I agreed to be my sisters maid of honor I really didn't know that the job would start well over a year before the wedding. As you read in my previous post I made and designed cards for the bridesmaids and flower girls. Today I was contacted by my future brother-in-law and asked if I would do the same for him. Again I told him he had to come up with an idea and I would work from that. His idea wasn't super original but cute none the less. We capitalized on the current 'Mustache' fad and below are some pictures of what I came up with.
This is what we will be calling the 'Ring boys'
because their are 2 of them
This last one will be the back of the card, and I will have a cutout mustache where the grey one is for the guys to use for their photo.

Be my Bridesmaid/Flower Girl

So my sister is getting married and she is the least creative person I know. She asked me as the Maid of Honor to put together some cards for her to give out to her Bridesmaids and Flower girls. But first a little background my sister has loved Elephants since long before I was born and we did a lot of playing around and idea getting from Pinterest and this is what I cam up with (it was all done at work on Photoshop Elements (Elements sucks it would have taken WAYY less time in Photoshop CC which I have on my home computer) because it was a SUPER slow day today.

I printed them 5x5 and since I work at a photoprint shop we removed any back printing and my sister will be writing a personal note on the back for each person. Lets hope everyone says yes and we have a fun wedding party!!

Baby boy quilt

So for once im actually remembering to post  my latest creation. So a family friend is currently pregnant with a baby boy. As cute as store bought baby things are I far rather the personal touch. So I decided I wanted to make a baby blanket, because who dosen't love their first blanket? I'm 23 and I still have my baby blanket. So I decided on granny squares with 2 shades of blue and had to use you tube to remind me how to actually do granny squares because its been so long since I've done them. The quilt is 9 x 11 squares in size (same size as my blanket was) and I lined it with baby blue cotton. im pretty sure I stole the show at the baby shower with it also because after it was opened everyone was asking me how to make it. Gotta love going homemade :)
For this quilt I ended up using 1.5 balls of Red Heart Light blue and 2.5 calls of Loops and Thread Impeccable Medium Blue. I also lined the blanket with knots so that when the baby is older the backing can be removed (it is more there so little toes and hands don't get caught in the holes)

Valentines day cards 2014

So to keep with my tradition I made my valentines card for my boyfriend again this year. I kept it a bit more simple this year because we agreed on my gifts but I wanted to at least give him a card. Especially since I was going to surprise him with home made heart shaped meringue...and he ended up having to help me make them because I had a little fight with my eggs. The inside of the card is half a Doctor Who quote so unless your a fan, you wont we it and for that I say I'm soo soo sorry and you NEED to watch the show its pretty great but anyways it reads...

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but ‘actually’ from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.
All of the twists and turns are just tests to make our relationship stronger. It is the wibbly wobbly time-y wimey stuff that makes it all worthwhile and shows we can make it through anything.

Valintines day meringue

So every year my sister does something cute for her friends and boyfriend in valintines day. Since she no longer lives in the same house as me I decided that I had to take it upon myself to make something cute and yummy this year. So I decided to try my hand at meringue....3 failed attempts later I got these bad boys. They are a mixture or plain, vanilla and almond flavoured.
4 egg whites
1 cup of sugar
Table spoon of grinded almonds (for almond ones only)
1/2 tea spoon of almond extract (for almond ones only)
1teaspoon of vanilla extract (for vanilla ones only)
Food colouring
Basically you whip the egg whites then add sugar till it is still and fluffy then you add everything else.
Bake for 45 minutes at 275 degrees.
To shape then I placed them in blobs on a cooking sheet then snapped then with a butter knife. But make sure you don't play with them too much or they won't be as fluffy.
